Why the UN still matters across the Maghreb
In our increasingly un-reported World, well, that part of the media circus that doesn’t involve celebrity and assorted trivia,
Morocco’s inflation surged to 2.2% in Q1 2025, up from 0.7% in Q4 2024, driven by higher food costs, the High Commission for Planning (HCP) said. Food prices rose 3.7%, with meat adding 1 percentage point, while non-food items climbed 1.1%. Fresh fish and vegetables also contributed to the uptick. The HCP linked the increase to persistent price pressures on staples, signaling continued strain on household budgets in the coming months.
