Morocco’s National Tourism Office and China Eastern Airlines have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at further boosting Morocco as a major tourism destination in the rapidly growing Chinese market. Speaking to local Moroccan media, Minister Ammor said: “this partnership aligns with our ambition to establish Morocco as an exceptional destination for travelers worldwide. With China Eastern Airlines, we consolidate our Asian presence and affirm our diversification strategy.” The agreement follows the launch, earlier this year, of the Shanghai-Casablanca route via Marseille operated by China Eastern. According to local media, a direct service will begin in October with three weekly flights, connecting Casablanca to the Chinese market, alongside Royal Air Maroc’s direct Beijing-Casablanca service. Morocco is hoping to attract one million Chinese tourists by 2030.
