Morocco is looking toward a fivefold increase in exports to Egypt over the next three years, that’s according to officials, who are targeting a jump from $75 million to $500 million by 2027. Morocco’s Foreign Trade minister Omar Hejira announced the forecast during a parliamentary session on Monday, adding it follows recent high-level meetings between Moroccan and Egyptian trade representatives. Hejira highlighted the auto industry as an example, with Moroccan car exports to Egypt recently up from 400 units to 3,000, with an outlook to reach 5,000 by year’s end and 8,000 by 2026.
