A Moroccan Royal Navy combat unit intercepted an inflatable boat northwest of the town of Tan-Tan, carrying 52 would-be irregular migrants, including 51 Sub-Saharans and 1 Bangladeshi, who were planning to head for the Canary Islands. In a press release the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces said the rescued people were given first aid on board before being taken to the port of Tan-Tan and handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for the usual administrative procedures.
