Morocco’s National Tourist Office has partnered with Wego, a leading travel app in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), to boost tourism from the region this summer, according to Moroccan media.
“Our aim is to help travelers easily discover rich, meaningful experiences—whether they seek adventure, cultural heritage, or relaxation—through curated content and seamless planning,” said Mamoun Hmidan, Wego’s Chief Business Officer.
The campaign will spotlight Morocco’s unique mix of tradition and modernity, encouraging visitors to explore historic souks and riads in Marrakesh alongside contemporary art spaces and exhibitions.
“The campaign will include exclusive guides, influencer-curated content, and digital marketing to position Morocco as a premier summer destination for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) travelers and beyond,” explained Rachid Hamzaoui, Director of the Moroccan National Tourist Office for the Middle East and Asia.
Although the campaign focuses on attracting visitors from the MENA region, a strong influx of French tourists is also expected. A recent Beur FM survey ranks Morocco among the top destinations for French travelers this summer, despite an overall decline in travel.
This initiative is part of Morocco’s broader tourism strategy, which aims to welcome 17.5 million visitors by 2026. Key elements of the plan include expanding accommodation options, increasing flight connections, and forging strategic global partnerships to enhance Morocco’s year-round appeal.
