Gold boom bankrolls Sahel conflicts
Surging global gold prices are fuelling violence and instability in West Africa’s Sahel, reports the BBC. Military regimes in
Morocco plans to increase its airport capacity from 38 million to 80 million passengers annually by 2030, Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch announced. Key airports, including Casablanca’s Mohammed V International, will see capacity rise to 23.3 million passengers, while Marrakech and Agadir will expand to 14 million and 6.3 million, respectively. This expansion supports Morocco’s tourism surge, with 15.9 million visitors in just the first 11 months of the year.
