During a Club World Cup game in Philadelphia between Man City and Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca a protestor from the PETA organization rushed onto the football field with a sign that read: “Morocco: Stop shooting dogs and cats.” Earlier this year Morocco implemented a new TNR Program (Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Return) campaign to address ongoing concerns by animal rights groups. as well as committing millions of dollars to support a national program to address the proliferation of stray dogs across the country. In a separate report, the BBC said ‘that a British woman has died from rabies after she was "scratched" by a stray puppy in Morocco, her family said. Yvonne Ford, 59, from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, had light contact with the stray dog while on holiday in February in the North African country.’
