Morocco, US discuss greater trade cooperation in joint committee session

A meeting in Washington D.C. this week between Moroccan Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour and US Deputy Trade Representative Bryant Trick marked the eighth session of the joint committee overseeing the two-decade-old free trade agreement (FTA). The discussions focused on boosting agricultural exports, attracting investments, and fostering cooperation in key sectors such as autos and textiles. Minister Mezzour stated that "Morocco can be a gateway for the US to Africa and a reliable link in building resilient supply chains," using examples of sectors that included electric vehicles, renewable energy, and agriculture.
