Mauritania shut down nearly 150 migrant smuggling networks in 2024, with dozens more disrupted in just the first few months
According to local media Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces (FAR) intercepted 156 migrants attempting the journey to the Canary Islands on Wednesday. FAR reported that the large group of irregular migrants were attempting to make the dangerous crossing aboard five inflatable boats. Morocco faces growing irregular migration attempts and in 2024, authorities reported preventing 78,685 irregular migration attempts and breaking up 332 human trafficking networks.
