Morocco’s coastal and traditional fishing sector saw a 16% drop in catch volumes to 523,765 tons and a 3% fall in value to $683m through July, according to Moroccan media. Shellfish, algae and white fish recorded strong gains, but pelagic fish—by far the largest category—fell 20%. Mediterranean ports posted slight growth, while Atlantic ports, which dominate output, registered steep declines.
