Gotion Power plans to build massive EV battery plant near Kenitra

Gotion Power Morocco, part of the Sino-European electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturer Gotion High Tech, is expected to start construction on a $6.5 billion gigafactory near Kenitra in northwestern Morocco. Reuters, citing the company's Moroccan head Khalid Qalam, said building would begin ‘within days’.  Gotion High Tech signed an investment deal with the Moroccan government in June last year and the proposed gigafactory is expected to mark the first of its kind on the African continent.
