Morocco’s renewable energy capacity rises over 5% to 12 GW by 2025

Morocco’s installed renewable energy capacity grew by over 5% between 2021 and 2025, reaching 12 gigawatts (GW), Energy Transition Minister Leila Benali said on Tuesday. Of this, 5.4 GW is actively generated from renewables, supported by legislative reforms. Speaking in parliament, Benali reiterated the National Energy Strategy’s focus on renewables, efficiency, and regional integration. The country aims to quadruple annual green energy investments and cut power costs, she added.
