Morocco’s VPS & Mastercard team up to enhance digital payments

Morocco’s Vantage Payment Systems (VPS), licensed by Bank Al-Maghrib, has teamed up with Mastercard to advance the state of digital payments in the North African country. VPS plans to integrate Mastercard branded cards across e-commerce, mobile commerce, in-app payments, in-store payments and recurring billing. While Mastercard will leverage VPS’s local infrastructure and merchant relationships to deepen its footprint in Morocco. Both VPS and Mastercard are set to introduce tokenization and add security features to support digital wallets. Ali Bettahi, President of VPS described “this collaboration with Mastercard as a significant milestone in our mission to digitally transform the payments landscape in Morocco.”
