Russia and Niger signed a civil nuclear cooperation agreement last week to develop nuclear power plants and modernize Niger’s energy grid, according to The Moscow Times.. The deal, led by Rosatom and Niger’s Energy Ministry, includes nuclear medicine, training, and infrastructure. Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev also met coup leader Gen. Abdourahamane Tiani, deepening Moscow’s ties with the military junta and expanding its Sahel influence.
