NATO allies are set to discuss appointing a special representative for the global south aiming to strengthen ties with the North Africa and Sahel regions.
During the two-day gathering in Brussels starting Wednesday, NATO's 32 foreign ministers plan to review over 100 proposals from an independent expert panel designed to improve the alliance's relations with its southern neighbors.
The initiative for this report came from Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg last year.
