Organizers of annual Jewish pilgrimage to Tunisia cancel celebrations over Gaza

An annual pilgrimage made by thousands of Jews to the southern island of Djerba has been cancelled due to the conflict in Gaza, Perez Trabelsi, the head of the organizing committee, told Reuters on Friday "how do we celebrate when people die every day?," Djerba – a holiday destination – is home to Africa’s oldest synagogue and the annual pilgrimage, attract thousands of Jews annually who come from Israel and several European countries.
