Portugal has announced a multi-million-dollar plan to strengthen its energy needs, according to AFP. It comes after the major power outage in June that affected Portugal, as well as others such as Spain. AFP reported that Portugal’s Environment Minister Maria de Garca Carvalho had noted the possibility of an interconnection with the North African country.
