Sahel security concerns take Algeria’s army chief to Mauritania

The visit, the first by an Algerian military official of this rank to Nouakchott, aimed to strengthen bilateral cooperation amid recent diplomatic tensions. Algeria’s defense ministry stated the visit, initiated at Chaabane's invitation, provided an opportunity for discussions on mutual interests and regional influence expansion.
