Shell Egypt has approved development of the West Mena gas field in the Mediterranean, the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum said Monday, according to Egypt Today. The field, discovered in 2023, lies in the North East El-Amriya offshore concession and will be linked to existing West Delta Deep Marine infrastructure. Shell holds a 60% stake, with Kuwait’s KUFPEC Egypt holding 40%, in coordination with the state-owned EGAS.
