South Africa’s Zuma recognizes Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara

Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita met Tuesday with South Africa’s former President Jacob Zuma, now leader of the MK Party, which officially recognized Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara and endorsed its Autonomy Plan. The party cited shared history and Morocco’s support for African liberation movements. Zuma, in Rabat, emphasized longstanding ties and said, “We believe Africa must do better — and we are going to succeed.”
