The paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), engaged in a prolonged conflict with Sudan’s regular army for over a year, announced on Thursday that they had seized a significant base near the South Sudan border. According to a post on social media platform X, RSF fighters "successfully liberated the 92nd Brigade base in the strategic Miram area of West Kordofan state." Video footage shared online shows fighters celebrating atop armored vehicles outside what seems to be the entrance of the Miram base, located approximately 60 kilometers (40 miles) north of the border.
