Egypt’s state gas company EGAS has awarded six new exploration blocks worth $245 million in an effort to boost
A road accident in northern Egypt killed 19 people on Friday, most of them teenage girls working as day laborers. A truck collided with the minibus carrying the laborers to their place of work from their home village in the Nile Delta, some 60 miles north of Cairo, according to AFP. Egyptian media have dubbed the girls "martyrs for their daily bread".
