Egypt’s parliament has repealed a decades-old rent law, putting nearly six million residents at risk of eviction as rents
In one of the largest political demonstrations Tunisia in recent times, tousands of members and supporters of the country’s powerful Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) took to the streets of the capital demanding greater civic and union freedoms. Last month, a UGTT strike over wages and working conditions disrupted transport services around the country. There was no immediate comment from Tunisian authorities on the protest.
