Top officials from Sudan are currently on an official visit to Russia, signaling deepening relations between Moscow and Sudan's government, led by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF).
Former rebel chief Malik Agar will meet President Vladimir Putin to discuss ways to improve ties between Russian and civil war-torn Sudan, according to a statement from Sudan’s military-backed government.
Over recent months, Russia has provided the SAF with weapons, fuel, and other essential support, despite the ongoing conflict in Sudan.
The Sudanese delegation is headed by Malik Agar, a former rebel leader who now serves as the vice president of Sudan's ruling Sovereignty Council.
