US President Trump’s envoy to Africa, Massad Boulos, is scheduled to make his first official visit to Libya next week. According to media outlet, Middle East Eye, Trump’s senior advisor is expected to visit Tripoli first, home of the UN backed Government of National Unity and then travel to Benghazi, in eastern Libya, controlled by a parallel government backed by Khalifa Haftar and his sons. Boulos was supposed to travel to Libya earlier this year, but instead in May went to Cairo to meet with President Sisi and the head of Egypt’s Intelligence Service, Hassan Rashad.
