Tunisia Boosts Ophthalmology Services with Mobile Units, Training

Tunisia’s Health Minister Mustapha Ferjani unveiled plans on Wednesday to expand ophthalmology services, including mobile eye clinics for underserved regions, to detect diabetes and hypertension-related vision issues early. The initiative includes school-year screenings for children and enhanced training for ophthalmologists. Tunisia also aims to grow medical tourism by attracting African patients for advanced care, including corneal transplants, positioning itself as a regional eye-care hub.
