A planned strike by Tunisia’s Finance Ministry workers on June 30 was called off after a last-minute agreement with the powerful UGTT labor union, MedAfrica reported. Talks led by Social Affairs Minister Essam El Ahmar addressed wage and workplace grievances. The ministry, vital for budget and tax management, had faced a serious disruption threat. Observers see the deal as a timely step to safeguard Tunisia’s fragile economic stability.
