Over 30 Tunisian law professors demanded the release of eight political opposition figures on Wednesday, pointing out that their pre-trial detention exceeded the legal limit of 14 months.
Despite expectations for their release earlier this month, after two extensions of four months each followed an initial six-month period, all eight remain in custody.
Their continued detention comes as their court hearing was postponed to May 2, according to their legal representatives.
