Tunisian President Kais Saied sacked Prime Minister Kamel Maddouri, who served less than a year, his office said on Friday. The decision comes as Tunisia faces challenges major economic challenges from increasing migration and refugee flows from sub-Saharan Africa. Saied announced the appointment of Sara Zaafarani, previously Minister of Equipment and Housing since 2021 and a technocrat, as the new Prime Minister.
