Turkey, Italy, Libya hold talks on migration, stability

Turkey hosted a rare three-way summit with Italy and Libya on Aug. 1 to address migration, energy, and regional stability. Turkish President Erdogan, Italian PM Meloni, and Libyan PM Dbeibah discussed curbing irregular migration—a top priority for Rome, as over 27,000 of 31,000 migrants reaching Italy this year came via Libya. The talks also covered economic ties and Gaza, underscoring Turkey’s regional role and shared efforts to stabilize North Africa.
