The U.N. human rights office on Wednesday demanded an independent investigation after mass graves were found at Tripoli detention centers run by Libya’s Stability Support Apparatus. The OHCHR said it was "shocked" by severe abuses in both official and unofficial facilities. Libya has faced lawlessness since Muammar Gaddafi’s 2011 ouster, splitting between rival factions. The U.N. said the discovery of bodies and torture tools confirmed long-standing rights violations.
