U.S. envoy Massad Boulos will make his first official trip to Libya next week as tensions escalate in Tripoli and Sudan, a U.S. official and Arab source told Middle East Eye. Boulos, Trump’s senior Africa adviser, delayed an earlier visit after Egyptian officials insisted he meet them first. In May, he held talks with Egypt’s President Sisi and intelligence chief Rashad. In Libya, he will meet both the U.N.-backed government in Tripoli and the eastern administration allied with Khalifa Haftar.
