UK legislators urge foreign minister to recognize Morocco’s autonomy plan for Western Sahara

More than 30 British legislators have sent a letter to country’s foreign minister urging official recognition that Morocco’s autonomy plan for is the only realistic solution for Western Sahara. The letter to Lord Cameron was signed by more than 30 Members of Parliament and the House of Lords, and a copy was published online on X, formerly known as Twitter. The letter highlighted Morocco’s status a strategic ally and said “remaining neutral or attempting alternative resolutions can only perpetuate a harmful status quo that jeopardizes the security of the region.”
