Speaking on the sidelines of the 5th edition of the Fez-Meknes Economic Forum, earlier this week, Adam Elhiraika, Director of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) office, said that Morocco is uniquely positioned to help develop economic integration across Africa as well as having the greatest potential to benefit from the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), according to Morocco’s official news agency MAP. Elhiraika further remarked that "in recent years, the Kingdom has stood out for its sustained investments in infrastructure, particularly in the services and renewable energy sectors," he continued, noting that Morocco has also shown new ways of connecting the Moroccan market with the rest of the continent.
