The UN refugee agency reported Friday that over 210,000 Sudanese refugees have found shelter in Libya, making up 73% of the country's refugee population. Hundreds more cross the border on a daily basis. Since 2015, the European Union has funneled over 465 million euros ($505 million) into Libya through the EU Emergency Trust Fund for Africa to curb migrant flows to southern Europe. Over half of this fund aids in migrant protection, facilitating their humanitarian return and evacuation.
