A planned strike by Tunisia’s Finance Ministry workers on June 30 was called off after a last-minute agreement with
Tunisia’s president replaced the interior and social affairs ministers in a surprise cabinet reshuffle Saturday night, AFP reports. The reshuffle after the arrests of around 10 human rights activists, lawyers and journalists over the last two weeks, which prompted national and international criticism of the government’s increasingly autocratic nature.
President Kais Saied named Khaled Nouri minister of interior, according to a statement from his office, with Kamel Madouri becoming the new social affairs minister.
