King Mohammed VI has extended an invitation to French President Emmanuel Macron for an official visit, following France's declaration of support for Morocco's sovereignty over the disputed Western Sahara territory, according to Reuters.
In a letter, the King welcomed Paris's "clear support" for Morocco's claim over the region. The Western Sahara dispute, ongoing since 1975, involves Morocco, which considers the territory its own, and the Algeria-backed Polisario Front, which seeks independence.
