Report: Egypt urges Israel to fund Gaza aid supplies

Egypt is unhappy with the current flow of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip and has proposed that Israel finances the supplies entering the enclave, according to Israel’s Kan public radio who cited an Egyptian official.

The proposal was reportedly presented to both the United States and Israel in recent days. From Egypt's standpoint, Israel holds responsibility for the situation in Gaza and should oversee the logistics of aid trucks entering the enclave.

The Rafah border crossing, a crucial route for aid delivery, has remained closed since Israeli forces took control of its Gazan side from Hamas in early May.
